I use straight 30 weight year round in mine. Mine is a 33 with a Waukesha flat head. Unless you live an extremely cold winter climate I think the 30 weight is safe for about any load you can put on it.

My F12 used to live in Michigan, we used it to run a buzz saw and haul fire wood on a hay wagon a couple tons to the load. Other than being a little tough to crank it ran great on the coldest of Michgan winter days.
