Your battery is not being recharged when engine is running and it has finally run down on you!

If the charging system is working, the ammeter hand will indicate +10 to +15 amps of charge when the engine is running at 1/3 throttle or faster. If the ammeter indication is “0” or is continuously to the left of “0”, it tells you the battery is not being charged or is being discharged respectively.

Possible causes are many: loose belt, bad regulator, bad generator, incorrect or broken wiring, etc. Punch below for a troubleshooting chart that can help identify exactly where the problem is.
