It's them thirsty battery gremlins again!!! :) Seriously, there really shouldn't be any mystery to it. You've either got a dysfunctional charging system, a short, or something is "on" like the ignition or light switch. My money's on the generator/regulator not charging the battery like it should. These old Ms have pretty simple wiring harnesses and are a great way to get into that aspect of tractor repair and restoration. My dad and I rewired my H in about an hour and a half with all new wiring and modern plastic looming, and that was without a wiring diagram. We just followed the old wiring and replaced it one wire at a time. Bob M's got some nice wiring diagrams on the net somewhere.
