Gas tank leak sealing putty is a good material to use to smooth pits inside a carb (assuming it is sparkely clean and sanded/wirebrushed in the pits themselves). Many other materials are gasoline resistant and can't be submerged exposed to modern gasoline very long before they disappear, or flake out. #2 Permatex sealant is alcohol soluble. Getting a new/different carb is probably the best.P.S. is there any resolution of the clutch adjustment?
