There should be a method of tightening up the tension on the belt. On my older Cub Cadets the adjustment is the left idler pulley located under the grill. The right idler pulley uses a spring to maintain the tension. On some of the newer Cub Cadets there is a spring tensioned idler pulley on the deck. Gene (Missouri)
