I did not mean to compare the W30 to the W6/W9. All I meant was that it was ONE of the last models before the new W series came out (see below). The W4/W6/W9 were intended to be, and were, a new line of tractors that had little resemblence to the older W series. There was also a W40 built into 1940, less HP but heavier than the W9. You are correct that we probably shouldn't compare the older W series with the later W4/W6/W9. I believe my dad had a 10-20 or a 15-30, it was not running by the time I started driving tractors. All I know about the pre-letter series tractors is what I read in Guy Fay's books.
