We have that same carb on our 2500A. I have always wondered if maybe that carb is part of the reason that tractor is so doggy. It really doesn't seem to to a very good job controlling fuel delivery. The tractor is really hard to start when cold and seems to be gutless when you have the choke all the way in, but then blows black soot and smoke when you have the choke out a tad, although it feels more powerful with the choke there. I just wish it had some way to adjust the main jet delivery. Then I could just adjust to see where it runs best. Hope you get it figured out. PS Don't hold dealer carb rebuilds in too high of regard. A dealer rebuilt our W6's carb and there is a pinhole 7/8 of the way up the floatbowl they never fixed and the float is set way to high up, as the gasket between the top and bottom half of the carb leaks, and gas drips out of the pinhole if the gas is left on with the tractor off.
