You need to remove No1 sparkplug near the radiator. You need to bring No1 piston up on the compression stroke to TDC. You need hold your thumb over the plug hole while someone slowly hand cranks the engine until you feel compression against your thumb. Then you watch for the notch on the damper pulley as the engine is slowly
turned until the notch is aligned with the pointer. The No1 piston should be at TDC.

Rotate the rotor to No1 plug wire and install the distr.

Make sure your plug wires are installed in the correct order on the cap. The firing order is 1-3-4-2 and should look similar to this:
