Yes, they can be difficult to put on. I usually jack up one side at a time. Hook the chains in one of the lugs and spin the tire to get the chains around the tire ending up with the open ends a the bottom. You'll have to work the chains around the tire to get the slack at the bottom. Start at the top and work both ways. Lay the chains out on the floor or ground and untangle them. You MUST have them straight (no twisted links). It can be a real brain teaser to straighten them out if they are twisted. I'm carefull taking them of so as not to tangle them and I hang them up immediately. Good Luck. Dave.
