Allan in NE 656 Hydro

Allan did you find the problem with your 656? I have seen this before. Was the rear end apart? I hope this is not the problem with yours the ring gear goes on ones side for a gear drive and the other side for a Hydro. This happened in our shop one time they put the ring gear in on the wrong side and it would go 18 miles an hour back wards and would only creep forward. I think the service manual only shows a photo of the gear drive. Hope this helps.
