Well guys, I'm glad I could fire up so much debate (chuckle) and the kast round did help a bit but looks to me that the leak IS in the other half of the pump where the oil gear that drives the opposing gear passes through. I'm getting the message that there is a key(maybe) that locks this gear onto the shaft and that shaft is a leaky culprit. At this point I'm going to take the whole unit off the tractor and bring it to the IH shop and let them go at it. I realize that, yes, a lot of folks here are not mechanics or have limited knowledge or skill, as I do...and that's why this place is great!!! I rebuilt the carb on the A, plus a lot of other easier fixes because people like YOU guys are here with good advice, period, and saved me a lot of time, money and headaches, so I know I beat this problem to death, but seems that the little hydro pumps are one of those creatures that aren't as simple as they look...kind of like my Red Head woman I love so well.
