your coil is bad. had the same trouble with my h. if there was 12 volts put into the 6volt coil it will burn it out but the tractor will still rud but badly. ceck voltage to coils + side should only 6v. if its 12v change the coil and put a napa icr13 balist resistor in line with the + side of to coil. this shoul solve your problem
