I was reading about the Electrall unit not long ago. It was a small frame-mounted, towed, or Fast-Hitch mounted electric generator built by GE for IH and was driven by the belt pulley. It was rated for 12,500 watt, 60Hz 120/240 volt AC power(generator speed of 3600 RPM). IH sold 'em only two years - 1955 and 1956. They only sold 103 units. I gather it was a dealer-installed option, and most of the farmers who bought it purchased it to run their dairy equipment in case of a power failure. As for selling off the stock as standalone power units, I have no idea. I wouldn't mind having one. Pretty good idea, I thought. Apparently not enough others agreed.
