Your bendix must be bad as the new ring gears have worked just fine for me. Have you cleaned the bendix and lubed it and are your cables on the battery good and clean. Has the starter had new brushes and been cleaned up on the brush end slots cleaned and so forth and a good 625cca 6v battery being used with 1ga cables. Have you checked the sw on top of the starter.
