I have never seen a 240 but know it was more or less a replacement for the 230. C123, no TA, dead pto. I believe the 240 was the last tractor that used the C123, 30 belt HP. The 404 with the C135 is likely considered to be its replacement. Wide fronts were available on all Farmall tractors, from most of the F series-up until they became standard on all Farmalls. They had fast hitch with 3-point option. Don't know if 3 point (no fast hitch) was ever available, I believe it was on the 340. In the condition you describe, $1800 is not too much.
