It was a beautiful day in Central Alabama and I decided to install the belt pulley on my SC I had ordered and received about two months ago. I work on it in my buddy's shop who has three of every tool Harbor Freight & Craftman sells. I removed the orbital plate over the housing and immediately noticed there was no drive gear there. Dang it! I decided to reinstall everything and would do an internet search this evening to see if I could find that gear, knowing it would take at least a week and several $ to receive it, a project for next weekend, or maybe the next. Well, shortly after pulling the SC out of the shop and putting her back to bed, an old tractor acquaintance I haven't seen in six months just happens to show up, we strike up a conversation about it and he says, "I gave your buddy the rear-end guts out of a Super C a couple of months ago. I'm almost sure there was a belt pulley in that stuff." Sure enough, we go searching and there is the exact gear I need for the job. I just wish he had shown up two hours earlier while I still had everything apart and could have done the installation then. Not complaining, though! Just glad he showed up when he did! As I keep a pretty good inventory of my buddy's stuff, I can't believe I didn't know he had what I needed, and I can't believe James showed up when he did to tell me about it! Life is good.
