Mark, if all else fails you could use an ohmmeter to measure their primary resistance as measured between their lil + and - terminals. If its in the 1.25 to 1.75 or so ohms range its my best guess it likely a 6 volt coil, but if over 2 to 3 and some over its my guess its a 12 volt coil. This is just a best guess as I have absolutely no specs or data on those coils, maybe Bob or Jim or Hal does and they can tell you the precise values??? They made some coils labeled "12 volts for use with an external ballast resistor" which are in reality more like 6 volt coils and some labeled "for 12 volt use only" what I would consider a true 12 volt rated coil. Both coils and points are more "current" then voltage devices, its the current passing through or switched by them that sets up the induced voltages and energy transfer etc. If you use a 6 volt unballasted coil at 12 volts it could run hot plus the points wont last near as long due to the excess currents. Uncle Cecil's Super A Lives Again - by Mike Purcell. A week or so out of most of my childhood summers was often spent with my Uncle Cecil and Aunt Sissie in the small East Texas town of Maydelle on their 80 acre farm. Uncle Cecil was the second owner of this wonderful little tractor, but it was almost as though he had adopted an infant. The original owner was a man from Minnesota who bought her from a local dea
