WilliamF...I know what you mean about Apples. I can tell you though, since I've come from there, that much of the advertising world (ad/art departments at companies and ad agencies, etc.) embraced Apples when they were introduced--largely, I think, because of the Quark Xpress program. This is an incredibly intuitive and powerful desktop publishing program that accounts for many of the books, magazines, catalogs and ads you see today. Mac accommodated that program long before Windows did. Anyway, the two operating systems are very similar from a user's point of view. For some things, Mac is a little easier to use. For others, Windows. I used a Mac at my last job but own Windows at home. That's about as far as my expertise goes. Hope this gives a little perspective.

Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
