You might just start with checking the level first. If you are sitting on the tractor right under the steering column there should sit the control valves for the hydralics the ones you turn to select whether it is single action cylinder or double, underneath that will be the resivor. On the pump side of the tractor meaning where the hydraulic pump sits behind the distributor, there should be a filler plug on the resivor. It will be a square top pipe plug. It should have a dipstick on it with the level indicator on it. If it's been a while that you have looked the oil situation over, on the left side of the tractor, where the carb is, there will be a screen that sits at the bottom of the tank. It will have four bolts holding it in, if you take this off it will drain the resivor completely. But some times this screen gets dirty, and may cause you some troubles. I would check the fluid level first. Fill it up to the full mark on the dip stick, fire up the tractor and run your hydralics for a bit, sometimes the pump will self prime. If this does not work, try adding a little air pressure to the tank via the filler hole. The pressure on top of the fluid will push it to the pump. I don't know if this is the right approach, but it has worked for us.

The draft forces are
