F-14 or F-12?

I have a new toy or should I say money pit, I just put my hands on a 1939 farmall f-14.
I have it torn down completely and plan to restore it to its original condition. The motor is stuck but she has a apointment with the motor doctor so it will be done by a pro.
I do have a problem though, The serial number is fs14288 and is shown to be a f-14 but the model number on the plate says its a f-12???
The steering column is raised like the 14
What gives?
