When I was a kid, unless we were sledding down the Hospital Hill, I simply HATED playing in the snow. Going down a 70-degree slope lined with pine trees taught us what zero-to-60 times and brute acceleration were all about. But if you got wet and got sick, you caught hell for not having better sense. If you dragged any snow into the house, and it made a mess, you caught hell. If you fell down in the ice and got hurt, it was your own stupid fault for being out in the #$%@* stuff. If you lost a glove or a toboggan hat, Lord have mercy on your soul, 'cause that stuff don't grow on trees! So I learned to hate playing in the snow. Probably what some of the kids today see and hear, and why they don't play in it, either.
