Many things to check here. First, make sure that the starter drive isn’t jammed into the flywheel by loosening it and rocking the tractor back and forth in high gear. If the engine rolls with the starter loose, then just tighten it up and go. There is an outside possibility that when you shut it off, it got into two gears which would make it act like it was locked up unless the clutch was pressed in. If the engine won’t roll with the clutch in, then you need to look further at the engine. Tug on the fan blade and see if the belt will slip a bit or if that will turn the engine a bit. If the fan won’t turn, then that might be frozen and prohibiting the engine from turning, but I doubt it. If after checking the starter, fan, and pressing in on the clutch the engine still won’t turn, then remove the spark plugs and check to see if there is water in one of the cylinders. I hope you don’t find any…that means a bad head gasket at the least and a cracked head at the worst. Good luck…
