I was in Toronto late Fri. at Listers down on Brown's Line, thought about coming home via QEW and 403, had heard a few rumblings about that Hamilton snow. I got caught once last winter were the empty tractor trailer had trouble getting traction on the mountain. Since I was leaving just about dusk, I decided 401 would be best trip home. With snow piled up on shoulders, and there was melt Fri. afternoon, about 6pm would have been a great time for black ice.

Had to go to a farm north of Embro on the way home, took a gravel side road for ease of turning in to the farm. I could see the gravel road had been plowed in past couple of hours. About 1/2 way through there you would never know it. The wind and drifting snow, I'd never have wanted to stop, it was hitting the bumper of the Mack quite steady. Came back out of there on black top, and loose snow was bad on that route. Rather than going short cut north of London, I hi tailed it back to the 401.
