54 Super MTA overhaul - what kind of pistons?

Am purchasing 54 SMTA. Current owner bought from estate auction, tractor supposedly recently overhauled. OH job done by mechanic, no way to tell what parts used, or extent of engine work. Short of pulling heads, any way to tell if stepped or domed pistons were used? What is HP rating of 1950 M original, with Super M piston kit (domed), and 54 SMTA ( all gas engines)? Any thing specific I should look for before writing final check? Thanks for the advice. Walter Goggin
