Do not know if some had starter or not but when I was a teenager I put in my summers for several years cultivating with 39 F 20. Some mornings it would not want to start so I would park it on small hill at night. If it did not wanr to crank in morning and no one was around to pull me off with another tractor I would go to barn harness mule and pull it down hill. When it started would stop mule with brakes (it had 2 foot brakes) worked every time.
