I second the blade idea. Big snowblowers are meant for big snow. They don't do much good in 4" of powder... You end up wearing most of it. Unless you live in an area where a foot of snow is a typical overnight snowfall, the blade is a much better option. Even so, running a snowblower with a Super M with no live PTO and no M&W hand clutch... Forget about it, unless the snowblower has with its own engine. Even with live PTO, the slowest reverse on many tractors is still too fast. An old trick for blowing snow is to run only one tire chain. When you hit deep snow, the wheel with the least traction will spin and you can edge yourself into the snow by tapping the brake on that wheel.
