If the IH trans. and you have a 4th all the parts are already in it for 5th.On the top cover in front of the gear shift lever look for a sunken hole with a 3/8 bolt.Remove it and put in a shorter one.Warning it may be covered with something,tank support ETC.If you're going to remove to replace gears it should be easy to locate then.Some of the early gears are little different than later gears but if you get a complete set from another tractor they will work okay.
