Have you cleaned all the connections at the batterts? also check the condition of the cables. you just have to worry about the big wire comming fron the alt. The alt can be putting out 15 volts but not enough amps the diod trio could have 1 or more bad diods and still show good volts with no load. also could have one bad battery. this has all happened to me on my 886 over the years. hope this might help
