I have a lot of experience with a WD-9 and WDR-9. They would pull a 4-16 bottom moldboard plow, 14 ft tandem disk, 5 blade disk plow, 16 ft Graham Hoeme chisel plow, 14 ft field cultivator with harrow behind. (These loads weren't exactly equal, the Graham Hoeme was the biggest load that I saw them pull; that really worked it hard) If I remember correctly they were about 45 drawbar HP. In the area where I grew up in North Dakota every farm had either a WD-9 or a John Deere R as their main tractor in that era. (I hope I don't get smacked for mentioning the green!)
