I have never had to apply a residual in RR soybeans. But I drill them in 7.5 inch rows. If you"re on wide rows, I could see a problem due to lack of canopy. In my experience, quack needs to be killed with a burndown of Roundup before planting anything. Usually best to do it in the previous fall (but that only works if there is no crop on the field at that time). As far as corn goes, there are a bunch of herbicides out there that will control foxtail. Best bet would be to find a local crop consultant or your extension agent and get info on what works best in your area. You could also find the farmer in your area with the cleanest fields and ask him what he uses.
