Spray welding does not get the metal of the shaft as hot. This is good as it keeps the shaft at its orginal hardness. We just started using this process at the shop when I quit there 5 yrs. ago but they have had nothing but good luck with it and are still doing it. I'd use it if it were mine. Good Luck.
