IH used several different heads on those tractors depending on fuel and year produced.Having said that most M and SM that were original gasoline used head 8060-D? or 8574-D? basicly the same head.Most gasoline 400 and 450 used head # 362174 R1.I put question mark after the D because you will find heads that end in D, DA, DB, ETC.Think one M and SM head advanced to DC and and other to DD but can't remember which # 8060 or 8574.
