If ya realy want to have a good puller don't use the fire crater pistons get your self some high alt. 4.125 pistons and have the head put on a flow bench and put bigger valves in it and a littel heavier springs new tappets and only take off the head enough to clean it up you will get more from the high alt. pistons then you will from milling the head add a true 450 intake and exhaust and do some tricken of the carb and dist. and a good cam grind and a good balance job be supprised what you will get out of it and reworking the gov. As far as porten and polishen let the guy that is doing the flowen of the head do that as he can see the improvement on the bench it is money well spent .
