The WR-9, WDR-9 had a number of features that were not optional on the W-9, WD-9. They were designed for heavy work in wet soil conditions. They were standard with: hand clutch (an option on W-9 WD-9), full coverage fenders (not available on W-9 or WD-9 but optional on later 600 and 650 tractors which did not have a "Rice Field Special"), larger rear tires than offered on W-9 WD-9 and standard with R-2 "Rice & Cane" tread, taller front tires 18" standard 20" optional both with single guide ring tread, if on steel had larger wheels than available on W-9 WD-9 (48x12 std on W-9 54x12 std on WR-9) and was standard with mud scrapers for wheels. They would normally pull; heavy duty 10 1/2" spacing tandam disks, chistle plows, (chistle plows were used mostly in our area whereas moldboard or disk plows were more commonly used in some other areas), levee disks for building rice levees, dirt wagons (Reynolds or other brand Scrapers) single or tandam for land forming, land planes, any other implements used for heavy open field prepration and at harvest time would pull rice buggeys to take the rice from combines in the muddy field to trucks on the dry road.
