If the hose from the carburator to the air cleaner collapses - Sounds like the air cleaner is clogged. Remove the entire air cleaner from the tractor. Clean the cup. Wash the body with solvent or soak in kerosene for several days. Slosh the body up and down every so often. Take a bottle brush to the air inlet tube. Reoil the steel wool if you used solvent to clean the air cleaner. Fill the cup to the line with 30 wt oil. Easy check is to remove the air cleaner hose from the carburator and see if engine performance improves. Gene (Missouri)
