MJ, yes you are correct the engine is the BD-144C from the UK. These crawlers were built in Canada @ the IHC plant in Hamilton Ontario between 1959 & 1964.There were also 2 gas models available the T-4 & T-5. The production #'s for the BTD-5 built in the UK were 1963 to 1967, #501 to # 567. 66 units built. I'll post a couple of pics in the photo section of the BTD-5. Interestingly enough, there was also a DTD-5 crawler( with Drott loader)built in Heidelburg Germany in 1961 & 1962, production #'s ???.These were the same as the Canadian built crawler except with a german built 148 cu.in. 4 cyl. diesel. IHC sure spread them selves around the globe in those days.
