The answer is to use fuel that just precents knock. That compression pressure is high enough to warrant the use of at least 92 octane unleaded. (even that may knock), Farmalls are not sophisticated in timing, nor mixture. As a result the answer may be trials to determine the lowest octane that will keep it from knocking.
Please find the following info. I believe it is as accurate as anything I've read and is to the point.
