The range shifter is just slipped on the post and that is part of the steering support The bushing goes into the lever . I have fixed a bunch of them it's not rocket sicence and on the 06-66 a littel slop can mean no shifting or not getting all the gears you have to look for any excess movement and get rid of it and if a 06-66 is not shifting easy then most likely it is because the clutch the trans brake and the dump valve are not set correctly.and this leads to tuggen on the shifter and adds to the ware and looseness .
