The first best info. is to buy a repair manual, Binders Books, Here on YT (to the left). Some believe an IT manual is also bennificial. Ebay also often has manuals for bid. If it jumps out of gear, there may be one of four probable issues (or combination of them). The detent balls in the shift mechanism are rusted stuck, broken worn. The shift forks on the sliding gears have been abused/bent. The gears have been abused and are toast. The bearings are loose/shot holding shafts in place, allowing gears to wander away from mesh. Only the first two are kinda easy. the remainder require major dissembly Photo everything as you go!!! JimN
