You are talking about two entirely different systems between your loader hydraulics and the hitch.

Does the hitch stay up when you shut off the tractor?

Just to verify and to be sure, I would put a load on that hitch. Pull the seat, it’s frame and the square cover. Start ‘er up and try to lift the load and watch that oil in the reservoir.

If you don't see any leakage (artesian-ing of the oil), put a pump in 'er. Very easy to do and it won't take you 15 minutes.

Now, if you do by chance get sprayed with oil (grin), you just saved a bunch of money ‘cause you have either a bad relief valve, cushion valve or leaky cylinder. But, I really doubt this will be the case.

Piggyback pump is the weak point; and if it is “trying” to lift but just can’t handle a load, you’ve got a wobbled out pump. This is a classic “bad pump” symptom.
