Glueing it may not be such a bad idea. If it could be cleaned up thru the starter hole with brake kleen or lacquer thinner and the use Loctite "stud and bearing mount" and slide the ring gear aound the flywheel to get loctite to suck in and be sure the ring gear is pushed back to it lip so runs square and true it should work forever this way. I have never done a ring gear but have glued stuff together that worked that did not have near the surface area the ring gear does. Read the directions on package as for temps.
