The change over linkage goes down the left side of the tractor to the center of the block at that point the linkage goes thru the block to the right side. At that point on the right side you will find where the linkage attaches with the gasoline carb & manifold. There is a spring about 1" long that makes this all work. Sometimes they break or just loose their tenstion. This spring is really pricey from IHC but one off the shelf at the Hardware store will work just fine. Less than $2.00. GOOD LUCK
