I am new to small antique tractors and grew up driving new JDs but never work on one ever, until recently. More for nostlgics on my end and I have hit a learning curve on old tractors but catching up all the time. The more I work on them the more I enjoy it. I own a 1949 Farmall M. I doubt if this tractor would serve you best but it works for me on my acreage. The very knowledgable people here will steer you the right direction. Only suggustion here would be to get a tractor with a loader and not under powered. My M has a clumsy loader for moving dirt but for doing repairs and working on roofs and windows, moving rocks, etc... Enough power for my work, probable more than enough. As far as learning about the tractors find the tractor profiles (under articles)on this site and read about all the options. Also read the various articles. Some have served beneficial to me. Good Luck.
