The only thing I have to add is that you never leave the 0-1" closed all the way as when it heats up in your shop from the cold you can spring the frame slightly. If yours will measure .0001 you can close it all the way after it's been in freezing temps, then open it up and hold it in your hand to warm up and reclose it, you'll be surprsed at the change in closed reading.
