timing a super m

im doing a in frame reubuild on my super m.im wondering how you get it back in time.when i took my disrbuitor out,i left everything connected and took it all off where it connects to where you dump in the oil.i cant find a mark on anything,except for yellow paint marks.does the govenor have to be timed, or do you just slide it in.how do you get the valves in time with everything else.
