I think they were made in the 50's. They had the red and white paint scheme already. Durability depends a lot on how well they are maintained. Some people claim that their's rarely miss a single bale, where as others are lucky to get 2 good bales in an entire field. We had good luck with a 37, but the 47 we got later was nothing but trouble. I would check the knotters for worn fingers, loose gears, worn shafts and the like, and also check the plunger's bearings along with mounting points for the wagon hitch. Those are the typical baler problem areas. Good luck!
