Squire: Heavy is always good, but 2 guage should be sufficient for 12 volts. 0 or 1 guage are a must for 6 volt systems. I use 1 guage on everything. Also go with soldered on ends, those will save you a lot of grief. Another little tip as I expect the C has that same flange on block as SA has, where the front end bolts on. Use a deep pulley, thus allowing you to set the alternator back just a wee bit and lower as well. The easiest I find on this is get a double pulley from an older V8 GM vehicle and use the outer pulley for the belt. This allows you to tuck that alternator in close to the block, thus making it look much neater.
