I read an article once that said that the natural oils in the rubber compound evaporated off if the tire wasn't used . By using the tire regularly it kept moving these oils to the surface of the tire . Now I don't know if this is true or not but it seems to me that unused tires do rot faster . I know the tires on my unused pickup are only 4 years old and are getting cracks in the sidewalls already . They have less than 1000 miles on them . ...Randy
