There was somewhere in the area of 45000 W-6's made. This number includes O-6's, OS-6's, OD-6's, and WD-6's. W-6's use the same 248 cu. in 4 cylinder found in the Farmall M, so engine parts are plentiful. Transmission is the same as the Farmall M as well, with gearing changes being the only exception. The only place parts become hard to find, is the front end. The bushings and bearings for the kingpins are no longer available. We had to modify the upper bolster bushing from a Farmall 400 to get it to fit. Also, the gears in the steering box under the gas tank are hard to find. So if it has a lot of slop in the steering, expect to be running around to junkyards to find better gears. Other than that, the tractors are pretty much bulletproof. We have S/N 38566 W1, and it comes in handy for the little tasks. Traction is the limiting factor on these tractors, not power.
