Thats why its a "gray" area,he dont know! I have seen some that were on original unrestored tractors painted and some not.Seen factory pics with them not painted.Look at the Cub on page 52.The section directly under the square cap looks painted while the front section near the dist cap looks polished,at least to me anyways.Wish the yhad and used color film back then.
